In the chapel...YSA Fireside, Melbourne

Imogen, a Brisbane YSA, says that when she came to Melbourne she's like...what's with all the black and grey!?... This colourful number is refreshing in amongst the crowd of grey and it so suits her personality, which I was lucky enough to get a small glimpse of at the fireside.
*Tip* Wear some colour. Even if it's just a scarf or some paint on the nails.

The lady in scarlet...there's always something appealing about her.
*Tip* Red looks great on everyone. All skin tones, all hair colours. Don't be afraid to wear it!

In the chapel...YSA Fireside, Melbourne

I spotted her from across the room. Love this skirt!

Victoria is all elegance. Her hair is always done, her makeup always perfect, her skin without flaw...shes got it all together.
Sometimes your whole look can be ruined if you hair looks a mess, your nails are all chipped with old polish or eyes have sleep stuck in the corners! Great style and an awesome outfit means head to toe.

Beautiful Girls.
Notice, the girl on the left has lengthened her dress by wearing a plain black pencil skirt underneath. Great idea! One to copy!

The head band...love it!
*Tip* accessories!!!..but not too much.

Finally some boys are coming on! Johnny has done well. Clean, simple but stylish. That's how I like to see the boys.

Legrand is a stylish guy. He's always got great clothes on, but the best thing about his look is the awesome smile he wears!...too bad you can't see it in this photo.
*Tip for the boys* Skinny dark suit, white shirt - looks good!

Women of Christ

I'm sorry faithful readers (if you exists) it's been a while. There haven't been many opportunities to check out the Mormon fashion lately. But do not fear...opportunities will come and more modest style will be coming you way! To view, comment on, to love or hate...but it's all for fun!

I have to confess, that since starting this blog I've been paying a little bit more attention to the ladies in the church. Naturally, my focus would usually be drawn to men. But being on the prowl for hot, modest fashion, has opened my eyes to the awesomeness of the women in the church. Maybe I'm being bold, but I recon the church has some of the most beautiful women going round! Thanks to the Work of Wisdom they are full of health and vitality. With bright eyes, great bods, and a pretty promising assurance they will age well. Their love for our Saviour Jesus Christ gives them that special glow, the glow that can only be found when you have the spirit with you. Their testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel shows that they have a strength of character, that they are happy with themselves and who they are...this makes them smile, a real smile. A smile of confidence. A smile that says 'I'm not afraid to be my own person, to stand out amongst the crowd. I will be true to myself and my Father in heaven, because I know he loves me'. They have true courage. Their baptisms shows that they can commit. That they are someone who will dress, act and be the way Christ and Heavenly father would want them to be. Women of true virtue. With an innocence, but an amazing maturity. Women who wont give themselves up to just anyone. Feminine, lovely, charitable...women of Christ.

So my lovely sister...never forget your worth, your potential, your divine purpose! Please never forget! Because you're all awesome!

Next time I'll have some photo's for you all!

xxx until next time

In the Chapel...YSA Fireside, Melbourne

When Isabelle steps into a room, you can't help but notice her outfit! I admire her fearless ensembles of way out colours and combinations. And I'm pretty sure her shoe collection has got to be in a gallery one day! I don't know where she gets them from but it's definitely not the average shoe store I shop at!

Who said an RM has to dress like her granma! Corrine, recently returned, has got it going on! *Tip* Blondes look hot in black!...and it's slimming!

This girl is so cool. She's casual, relaxed, but stylish. As easy as that hey!

Gorgeous! Is what comes to mind. The girl and the dress. And to think she got this from the Salvo's! Jealous much? I think so! Some people just have a special talent for finding the rose amongst the thorns.
*Tip* GO OP-SHOPPING. You have to be willing to file through everything to find something good! But it can be fun! You can find awesome bargains, unique pieces AND your helping our planet by recycling (no need to feel guilty about being a fashion consumer).

As soon as I saw this girl I new there was something unique. Not only in the way she dresses but there's a certain something about her personality. She so young, yet she seems mature, even wise...like she's been places, done things...like she has a story to tell.

At the Mission Prep Class...the teacher, Melbourne

Victoria is all class. *Tip* Sometimes less can be more.

At the Mission Prep Class...The Lowes, Melbourne

Michael's a lucky guy! Don't we all wish we could look this awesome in a skin tight pencil skirt! *Tip* For those of us who don't have perfect bodies (like the one we see above) elastic girdles (the giant elastic underwear we've been seeing more and more of) really can work wonders. It can make our curves streamline and wont give us those ugly underwear lines. So don't be turned off by their hugeness...give them a try, and you'll see how they can make it look like you've been going to the gym...when really, you've been sitting at home on facebook.

At the Mission Prep Class...1920's style, Melbourne

Nicki's always looking gorgeous. With her 1920's inspired style, she knows how to rock it modest. *Tip* Don't be afraid to be a little bit riskay. Nicki said she wasn't too sure about the knee high socks, I say, they look great! She's really pulled it off. If you try to be a little bit risky and don't pull it off, it doesn't matter! There's always tomorrow to try again!

In the chapel...Sunday best, Geelong

This is Genevieve. Looking gorgeous but effortless with her relaxed updo. *Tip* Waisted styles with full skirt flatter any figure. It can cover up bumps or create womenly shape! Loving it Gen!

The Beginning

One of the biggest challenges for a Latter Day Saints women is finding clothes that are modest and stylish...well maybe it's not the biggest challenge, but it's up there!

We've all experienced those moments where it feels like we've been shopping endlessly, but still can't seem to find the 'right' dress! A dress that is the right colour, the right style, not too over the top, not too plain, suits our figure, our style, our personality....the list goes on!

Try adding to that list the requirements for it not to be strapless, boob tube, tummy baring, leg baring, back baring, chest baring...this tends to make things a little more difficult. Don't get me wrong, I love dressing modestly! It's classy, it's hot and we should all show respect to our bodies! It can just be a challenge sometimes...especially when there's a YSA or Youth Ball coming up!

It sucks when you find an decent dress (usually meaning, it goes to the knee!) and then have to cover it up with a tacky shrug...which ends up making you get ginormous sweat patches! Not too good when you're trying to attract the prey (men that is)!

What I'm out to do is not fix this problem...but help a sister out! Give her some advice and share with her what our other sister in the church are doing to keep it modest but hotest. A girl loves fashion, there's no doubt about it and although we shouldn't covet it, worship it, or spend our entire incomes on designer pieces, there's nothing wrong with having fun with what we wear.

Photos will be going up of real women in the church who have got it right. They're looking good and covering up. Whether they're just coming to church on Sunday or they're at a YSA dance, I'm going to capture them in action!

Keep on checking us out!
